We just moved our two and a half year old son from his Simmons crib to a toddler bed. The mattress that came with his crib worked ok but it was really made for a baby. He weighs about 33 lbs now and has bounced the heck out of the old mattress. I decided to go ahead and invest in a really solid mattress because we have more children being planned within the family in a year or two, so this mattress will get a lot of use. This is a good investment if you're looking for the "ultra deluxe" variety. The crib mattress he had states that it contained about 4 lbs of materials. Which was great when he dumped out a bottle of formula on it a few times, the fluid went straight through the mattress, and then the mattress dried very quickly. This mattress is 14 or 15 lbs, and fits our needs much better.This mattress is more like a firm adult mattress, in fact, it's even firmer than that. Which is ideal for our son.I lie on his little bed with him to read to him, and it's solid for both of us. It's certainly worth the price if you plan on using it for both crib and toddler bed, as you can feel the difference in the sides. This is a thick, well-made mattress. It arrived much faster than the expected date.

I did research for over a week for the right mattress... The wife wasn't happy because the crib sat empty for a week, but I was happy because of my purchase.We have only had it a couple weeks. But here is why the 5 stars:Smell: No chemical smell. This was very important to me. I have a sensitive nose, and I also hate chemicals. So my nose was the first thing to touch the mattress - creepy but true.Firmness/weight/durability: very well constructed and heavy. Not cheap and very firm... I didn't notice a huge difference at all between the 2sides. If you want a memory foam mattress then go buy one, but this is not it.Material: I originally was going to buy an organic mattress but I heard they smell like pure chemicals, so after much research this is the BEST available nonorganic mattress when looking for few chemicals. I obviously chose this over an organic mattress because I listened to the reviews and I'm glad I did.Best bang for the buck right here!

We got Larkin crib from Pottery Barn... They sell this mattress on their web site for 270 dollars... We got it here for 160. Love quality; love two sides; infant and toddler. Fits like a glove in the crib. Love this purchase and beating the system :) Amazon is amazing!!!!
