At first I was a bit skeptical about this item. I am a mother who was nursing and made the HUGE mistake of letting my son sleep with me in my bed. I've been making efforts on getting him in his crib, and nothing was working. I had heard of crib mattresses that vibrate, but those tend to be over $100, and with a baby, I don't quite have the budget to buy one of them. I kept looking on the internet and stumbled across this item. I purchased it, put it together, which was a bit difficult because I happen to be one of those people who refuse to read instructions first. Once it was put together, we placed it on my son's crib, and IT WORKS! It will detect his cries within 4 seconds of him beginning to cry, and will stay on for like 5 minutes. He isn't sleeping through the night, but he is sleeping in his crib!

For the money/reward ratio, this was one of the best baby products we bought because it actually worked and gave us more rest. Our baby was really responsive to motion and rocking as are most babies. Instead of standing by the crib every nap or nighttime slumber and rocking the crib by hand for 10-15 minutes, this device did the trick for us. We loved the auto setting which responds to the baby's crying and starts the rocking/shaking. Most of the time it was enough to send the baby back to sleep. For sleep deprived parents, this alone makes the device worth it's weight in gold. The only minor complaint we have is that the battery housing allows for too much "play" and when changing batteries, it can be a little tricky aligning the batteries so all the terminals are in contact. However, we were surprised that the 4 D batteries lasted about 8-10 weeks with multiple daily use. We were expecting to change the batteries much more frequently given how long it runs and that we used it at least 2-3 times every day.Easy to install. just need a flat head screwdriver and takes about 5 minutes to attach it to the side of the crib with the included 2 screws.

I have to say the overall quality is pretty poor. This crib rocker really doesn't shake the crib or rock the mattress, it more rattles against the crib rails. We have a pack n' play that has a rocker and it sits under the mattress and really does a nice job of rocking the baby. This is nothing like that, it is a box that you bolt onto the rails of the crib that sort of rattles around. We have a pretty nice quality crib - a Graco Sarah - that doesn't shake too much. It might work for you, but don't expect anything nice to come in this box...
